Paint spill slows traffic on Pass Rd in Biloxi

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Biloxi Police diverted westbound traffic on Pass Road late Tuesday morning as crews worked to clean up paint that spilled on the road in front of the Sherwin Williams paint store.

The manager of the store, Ken Moore, told WLOX News a customer was trying to beat traffic turning on to Pass Road when a five gallon drum of white latex paint flew out the back of the pickup. The glob of paint was smeared by cars driving through it.

Moore said five gallons of paint will cover about 2,000 square feet of wall space. Dumped on the road in this heat, he said, the paint gets sticky "real quick" and doesn't spread as far.

"If you see a lot of white on a black road, don't drive through it," Moore advised.

Biloxi Police said crews put sand on the paint and cleaned up the mess. Traffic is flowing once again.
