GAUTIER, MS (WLOX) - The Jackson County Road Department is temporarily closing a section of Robert Hiram Drive in Gautier Monday to begin a bridge replacement project.
Contract crews will remove the current wooden foundation bridge and install a 92 foot long concrete bridge. Crews will also replace guard rails and improve asphalt leading on and off the bridge. Work is expected to take two months, weather permitting.
Drivers will be able to detour around the closed section using a temporary road connecting the west end of Robert Hiram Drive to Amberjack Drive. Everyone is asked to use caution around this construction site. Pay special attention to traffic signs, road workers and heavy equipment.
