Turnout light for Tuesday's GOP primary

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - It's election day for South Mississippi republicans to choose a congressional candidate to run against Gene Taylor in the November 2nd election. Early turnout is very light.

The two names on GOP primary ballots are State Representative Steven Palazzo and Petal resident Joe Tegerdine.

The Palazzo-Tegerdine showdown is the only contested race on coast ballots. Again, the winner of this race will face U.S. Congressman Gene Taylor in November's general election.

Polls are open until 7pm. If you're not sure where to vote, click here to locate your polling place.

We'll have election results on WLOX News at 10 and WLOX.com.
