Gulfport's Sounds by the Sea concert canceled; Pascagoula event still on

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - One of South Mississippi's favorite Memorial Day Weekend traditions was rained out Saturday. The Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra's Sounds by the Sea concert in Gulfport was canceled, and will not be rescheduled.

The concert set for Sunday in Pascagoula is still on, however. It begins at 6:30pm at Beach Park in Pascagoula.

As always, the Sounds by the Sea is free, and concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
