MS Power ruling comes Wednesday

JACKSON, MS (WLOX) - Today is the day the Public Service Commission set for ruling on whether to reconsider Mississippi Power's Kemper County Power Plant Project.

Last month, the commission approved the plant application by Mississippi Power, but with a lengthy set of conditions including a ban on charging customers construction costs before the plant is built.

The company said those condition would make it impossible to finance or construct the plant which will generate power from Lignite, a cleaner burning coal.

The two issues Mississippi Power wants reconsidered are the $2.4 billion cap on construction costs and when Mississippi Power can start charging customers for construction costs.

When the PSC rules later today, we'll bring you what the commission decided on and WLOX News.
