PEARL, MS (WLOX) – It was called by one reporter as the best game he'd ever seen. The St. Stanislaus Rockachaws used a sixth inning suicide squeeze bunt to score what turned out to be the game winning run in a thrilling 5-4 victory over Amory.
St. Stanislaus is now just one win away from the Class 4A baseball championship. Game two of this series is Thursday night at 7:00 in Pearl.
Boomer Scarborough went the distance this morning to record the victory. He struck out nine Amory batters. Scarborough is now 12-1 on the season.
Bo Brennan laid down the squeeze bunt in the bottom of the sixth. That gave St. Stanislaus a one run lead – a lead it would not relinquish.
