PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) - The Class of 2010 at Pass Christian High School has a lot to be proud of this year. Their hard work in the classroom is already yielding big financial rewards.

Principal Cathy Broadway said the 130 seniors earned a total of $6,313,000 in scholarship money. That's twice as much as any other senior class in the history of Pass High.

"We expect them to make good grades, we expect them to increase ACT scores," Principal Broadway said. "We expect them to receive college scholarships."

Principal Broadway said the class of 2010 is passionate about education, and that's a quality that will serve them well wherever the future leads them.

"Some are going to Ivy League schools, some going to University of Florida, University of Alabama, State, Ole Miss, junior colleges."

Valedictorian Rebecca Farrar will be walking through the doors of Texas A&M University come August. She's planning to major electrical engineering and said she is very honored to be a leader of such a historic class.

"It took a lot of work to get here," Farrar said. "There are really a lot of smart people in this class, so I'm really lucky to have got it."

After Wednesday's graduation practice, the school hosted a catered senior dinner in the cafeteria. Graduation will be held Friday at 7pm in the school gym.
