COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Former Ole Miss forward Murphy Holloway says he'll join South Carolina.

Multiple media outlets reported Wednesday that the 6-7 Holloway has chosen to walk on and pay his own way with the Gamecocks next season.

Holloway also wrote on his Twitter account that he was heading to South Carolina. He'll have to sit out per NCAA transfer rules and would be eligible for the 2011-2012 season.

Holloway has two seasons of eligibility remaining. In April, the Irmo native said he was leaving the Rebels for personal reasons and wanted to return to South Carolina, where he has a daughter and family.

Holloway averaged 10.1 points for the Rebels. He was the Southeastern Conference's fifth leading rebounder at 7.6 boards a game.
