4 arrested with prescription drugs, cash & assault rifle

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Federal, state and local officers arrested four people, including a Florida man, in prescription drug busts Thursday and Friday on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, according to a Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics official.

A search warrant executed at 2531 Meadow Road in Biloxi led to the seizure of approximately 1,000 dosage units of Oxycodone and 100 dosage units of Xanax, which have a combined estimated street value of $30,000.

Also seized were four weapons, including an M-16–style assault rifle, two vehicles and more than $6,900 in cash, said MBN Director Marshall Fisher.

Agents arrested 57-year-old Bobby Bates, of 105 Harris Blvd., Indiatlantic, Florida; 24-year-old Corey Horne and 20-year-old Ann Devoronica, both of 2531 Meadow Road, Biloxi; as well as 20-year-old Jarrod King, of 5300 Quincy Avenue, Gulfport, said Director Fisher.

Bates, a habitual offender, is charged with possession with intent to sell or distribute Oxycodone. His bond has been set at $75,000.

Horne is charged with possession with intent to sell or distribute Oxycodone and possession with intent to sell or distribute Xanax. His bond has been set at $150,000.

Devoronica is charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Her bond has been set at $1,000.

King is charged with possession with intent to sell or distribute Oxycodone. His bond has been set at $25,000.

The MBN, Drug Enforcement Administration, Mississippi National Guard and Biloxi Police Department are cooperating in the ongoing investigation, and more arrests are expected.
