Former NYC Mayor Rudolph Giuliani addresses USM graduates

HATTIESBURG, MS (WLOX) - Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani is the keynote speaker at The University of Southern Mississippi's Centennial Celebration Commencement ceremony Saturday morning.

Giuliani was mayor during the 9/11 terrorist attacks on America in 2001. In the aftermath of the twin towers falling, Giuliani led his city and the country in mourning and recovery.

Giuliani's address at USM's commencement ceremony is expected to deal with crisis management.

Giuliani will also receive an honorary doctorate from The University of Southern Mississippi. He is only the sixth person to receive this honor.

With this 2010 commencement ceremony, USM is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its legislative founding. The commencement ceremony is set for 9 a.m. at M.M. Roberts Stadium on the USM campus.

The Raycom News Network will cover Giuliani's address and you can hear what he says later today on WLOX News.
