Trees down, roads closed due to severe weather

YAZOO CITY, MS (WLOX) - The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) has closed a few roads Yazoo and Holmes Counties due to severe weather.

Trees are down on several highways across the state due to severe weather. Motorists are asked to avoid the following highways due to trees and debris:

  • Highway 433 in Yazoo County
  • Highway 17 in Holmes County
  • Highway 14 in Holmes County

Motorists are urged to take an alternate route until debris is removed from the highways. For the most up-to-date information and sign up for your traffic alerts, click HERE.

MDOT advises the public to pull off the road to a safe location if you need to check the website while driving. MDOT's number one concern is the safety of the traveling public.
