OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - Communications Workers of America Post 3519 picketed outside the AT&T call center in Ocean Springs Wednesday.

Members say they are in the middle of contract negotiations with AT&T. The current contract is set to expire in two weeks.

Union members say they represent 400 call center employees who want better medical insurance coverage, higher wages and better working conditions.

Eric Cox is the CWA 3519 Treasurer.

"The call center environment is stressful at best, and it's just the way the management approaches the calculations like their waiting time, average call waiting and things like that," Cox said. "We're looking for the company to take a better approach in instruction and education with the employees before they go to the discipline process. Attendance is another big issue. And we feel like if the company does not consider the reasonable attendance issues. Everything counts as a miss, and they're gone."

Union members say they are hoping to have a contract signed within the next two weeks, but given the history of negotiations between CWA and AT&T, they are not optimist.
