PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - A Soccer field in Pascagoula has a new name. Family, friends and former players helped unveil the new sign for William E. Feidt Field at the Pascagoula soccer complex.

"It just means so much. Bill was so dedicated to soccer, loved it," Gail Feidt, Bill's widow, said. "It just shows the appreciation the city and the kids had for him."

Feidt, a dedicated soccer coach, was remembered for the young lives he inspired as a coach, especially the team he coached for 20 years called the flame.

Flame alumni played their annual reunion game on the field just after its dedication.

"Now, everybody knows coach. Everybody that will ever set foot in this complex, every player that will ever play for an srsc jersey will know what coach meant, not only to the club but to the players and the city of Pascagoula," said former player Roland Reynolds.

Feidt coached all levels of soccer in the city for 30 years including serving two years as Pascagoula High School's head coach.
