Ocean Springs doctor arrested on drug charges

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Another coast physician is facing drug related charges. Friday morning, Dr. Matthew Cary Wallack was still in the Harrison County jail after being arrested Thursday night for possession of Oxycodone.

The arrest came after officers were called to Biloxi Regional where an emergency room patient was reported to be in possession of a controlled substance. Police tell us that patient was Dr. Wallack and that he came into the emergency room on his own, seeking medical attention.

After that incident, a search warrant was obtained for Dr. Wallack's office in Ocean Springs where narcotics officers say they found numerous controlled substances.

Wallack was booked for possession and taken to the Harrison County Jail where a $25,000 bond was set.

Jackson County authorities have also confirmed they are investigating Dr. Wallack.

A.J. Giardina will have a special report on the arrest of Dr. Wallack tonight on WLOX News and WLOX.com.
