GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) – If you like the Oak Ridge Boys, or the Gatlin Brothers, then this announcement is for you. Starting in May, you can board a flight in Gulfport, fly to Branson, Missouri, and watch your favorite entertainers.
Gulfport Biloxi International Airport has reached an agreement with a new airline called Branson Air Express. Three days a week, a 50 seat regional jet will fly back and forth between the Mississippi Gulf Coast and the Missouri/Arkansas border. Airport officials in Gulfport expect the new air service to drive traffic in both directions.
Branson Air Express was created in February. The company will fly from Branson to seven cities: Gulfport, Nashville, Houston, Shreveport, Austin, Des Moines, and Terre Haute. According to its website, Branson Air Express's inaugural flight is May 17. Roundtrip flights are as low as $118.
