Science dream about to come true

In about a month construction will begin on a science center in Hancock County that is expected to become a major tourist attraction in our community. It's called Infinity Science Center and will be built next to the welcome center on Interstate Ten.

The museum was the dream of the late Leo Seal who gave his time and money to the project. School children from across the coast will be able to make field trips to learn not only about space, but also about our earth and the oceans. It will be a high tech, hands on museum that no doubt will inspire both young and old alike. You'll get to see rockets that have propelled many of our astronauts into space, as well as a large planet earth, that you'll be able to investigate.

When the center opens in the fall of 2011, it promises to be something all South Mississippians can be proud of. While the dream of more than ten years is nearing completion, there are funds still needed to be raised to help pay for some of the exhibits.

When the call is made, we hope you will consider joining us in giving a few dollars to the effort, because this museum will become a learning center not only for now, but for many generations to come.

That's our opinion, we would like to hear yours. Email your thoughts to, or post your comments below.
