OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - Richard Dickson was a four year starter for the LSU Tigers and two-time All-SEC selection.

The 6 foot 3, 237 pound Dickson became LSU's all-time leader for tight ends with 89 receptions, for 945 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Before his senior campaign, Dickson underwent off-season knee surgery and was unable to participate in springs drills.

A hamstring injury and concussion hindered Dickson from adding to his record setting statistics.

Richard says he's been preparing for the upcoming NFL Draft.

Dickson said, "For the past two months I've been in Atlanta Chip Smith with Competitive Edge Sports . Just football everyday. Get up in the morning, learn positions, drills, run the 40 and lifting weights."

Due to various ailments Dickson's production fell off during his senior season, grabbing 20 passes for 153 yards. However, he hopes the scouts look at his entire 4 year career in Baton Rouge to access his overall ability. At the present time he's considered a late round pick.

Dickson says, "I've been told anywhere from 5th to late rounds. I'm must hoping people see what I have done over my career and take everything into account and I go out there and show them what I can do."

Travis Dickson, Richard's younger brother, will keep the LSU tradition alive and well. Travis, an outstanding defensive end at Ocean Springs High School... inked a football scholarship with the Tigers of head coach Les Miles. He projected as a tight end.

Dickson said, "oh it's awesome. I'm excited for my family to stay in Baton Rouge and watch him play. I love watching my younger brother play sports."

Richard would love to see his brother play on Saturday night in Death Valley, but would rather be preparing for a pro football game as a member of an NFL team in 2010.
