GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Harrison Central head coach Pat Olmi had his 6 and 2 Red Rebels out on the practice field, for a final tune-up before Tuesday's showdown with Gulfport.

Olmi says experience is the key this season for his Red Rebels, "Senior leadership. We've got a senior club and we're starting to swing the bat a little bit. The coaches have done an outstanding job working with them so hopefully we'll be ready to go tomorrow night."@

Mississippi State signee Wes Rae, a 6-foot-5, 280 pound senior, has been pounding the baseball of late. He's also an outstanding pitcher.

Olmi says "Wes had a real good weekend. In three games he hit 4 home runs. I think he's got like 10 RBIs and his batting average up to .450."@

Wes Rea says he's getting the pitches, "I'm seeing some good pitches now. It's kind of a good thing with district starting. Finally got my swing where it needs to be. But the real thing is seeing some pitches that I can hit."

Coach Olmi says junior lefty Jared Gates will get the starting nod on the mound for the Red Rebels on Tuesday.

Gulfport coach Tim Dowdy will go with sophomore Myles Gentry, who pitched well before being relieved in the 3rd inning against Biloxi last week.

Dowdy says, "Myles is a guy who has been on the mound a lot already. He's just a sophomore but he threw a lot of innings last year. Got a lot of competitive nature about himself. And he a guy who is going to go out on the mound and give you everything he's got."

Myles Gentry says he's getting in a groove, "Throwing all three pitches for strikes and I'll have to do that against the Admirals and avoid walking batters."

Coach Dowdy has guided his Admirals to 7 wins in 9 games and knows Tuesday's Red Rebels clash will be entertaining for high school baseball fans.

Dowdy says the game should be exciting, "You can't ask for anything more from a high school baseball game than what you're going to see Tuesday night."

A large crowd is expected in Gulfport Tuesday night for the Harrison Central-Gulfport confrontation.
