Public Service Commissioner opening mobile offices

DIAMONDHEAD, MS (WLOX) - The traveling office of the Southern District Public Service Commissioner is on the coast this week. Tuesday, the office was staffed at the Diamondhead Community Center.

Commissioner Leonard Bentz said you do not need to live in the community if you have a comment or issue.

Services like signing up for the No Call list, Zap the Gap, Weatherization Assistance and other services are available at the traveling office. But Bentz said the main thing people seem to want to talk about is the proposed and controversial plant Mississippi Power wants to build in Kemper County.

"We are still wading through all the issues that were brought up in the hearings that we've had," Bentz said. "We've in the process of trying to compile that the best way that we possibly can and make a good decisions for the future of Mississippi and the rate payers of Mississippi in the future."

The mobile office will be in Bay St. Louis on Wednesday at Bay St. Louis City Hall from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

On Thursday, the mobile office will be at Waveland City Hall from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Commissioner Bentz also has an office in Biloxi.
