Six Flags New Orleans pushed back their Grand Opening from Saturday April 5th to Saturday April 12th. General Manager Terry Prather says delays in construction and receipt of overseas materials contributed to the park's decision.
"A transformation of this magnitude is a tremendous undertaking," said General Manager Terry Prather. "When guests visit the new Six Flags New Orleans, we want them to enjoy the full Six Flags experience."
Tickets issued for the park's grand opening will be honored on any operating day throughout the season. For more information, click here, or call (504) 253-8100.
Six Flags bought the old Jazzland theme park last year. In the off-season, the company spent $24 million transforming the 16 acre park in New Orleans east.
Six Flags added two new roller coasters. The Batman ride soars 105 feet in the air and hits speeds of 50 mph. Suspended from the track in ski lift style chairs, coaster lovers will fly through the air and go to hair pin turns, corkscrews and two loops.
