State rests in teen's capital murder trial

PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - The state has rested its case in the capital murder trial of Terry Hye, one of the four teens standing trial for the slaying of Michael David Porter in Moss Point.

Wednesday, one of the inmates at the Jackson County jail, Jerry Givens, testified that Hye passed a letter to him for co-defendant, Telvin Benjamin. The letter outlined their plan saying we were just hanging out, and that Darwin Wells was the one who shot Porter while trying to rob him.

The defense questioned whether Givens was a reliable witness, claiming he was high on drugs  while he was testifying.
