GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) – "He was a giving child and had a soft heart. You can ask anybody," said Georgia Johnson as tears flowed down her cheeks. "He never started a fight with anybody or was out there fighting with someone."

Johnson is a heartbroken mother who is seeking answers and justice in the murder of her oldest child.  Xavier Seales' body was found on August 7, 2009, in his apartment at the Lexington Apartment Complex in Biloxi.

Johnson remembers talking to her son the night before he was killed.

"I called him up and he said he wasn't feeling good, and he said his car had broke down and he had a guy tow it in," said Johnson.

Hours later, she received the devastating phone call.  She learned that her son had been beaten and shot in the head.

"Like how did he die?  Who would kill him and why?" Johnson asked.  "The day he died, I went all the way back to the day he was born.  He's my little baby."

The 38-year-old Seales was disabled and had been unemployed for two years. Before that, he worked as a corrections officer in a Louisiana prison. His other jobs included security guard and delivery man.

Johnson said losing her son was painful enough, but not knowing who killed him only adds to her grief.

"I'm very frustrated, because I know [there is] somebody out there that knows who did it," said Johnson.

Biloxi investigators told Johnson they have talked to several witnesses and persons of interest, but there is still no suspect.

"When you kill somebody, you don't only kill that person, you kill every person in that family," said Johnson.  "He has a daughter who's 13 that he'll never see her graduate from high school."

Johnson is now making a desperate plea for the public's help. She also has a message for her son's killer.

"You're going to pay for that and I know your conscience is killing you right now. Eventually, you'll come forward and you'll tell the truth," said Johnson.
