OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - If you've always wanted to learn how to cook from a professional chef, the IP Culinary Arts Cafe at the Mary C. O'Keefe Cultural Center in Ocean Springs is about to make your dreams come true. The Cafe will have its grand opening on Friday.

"The key ingredient is fun. We want people to come in. learn how to cook and then go home to their own kitchens," Cafe Director Anita Nobles Arguelles said.

The folks from Viking and IP Casino contributed equipment, time, money and expertise to the project. The IP's Stephen Morgan will be one of the area chefs brought in to teach classes.

"It's awesome to unlock that little chef in everybody," Morgan said as he prepared an exotic shrimp dish in the cafe's state of the art kitchen.

"People are getting very excited. They can't wait to get in here and start cooking," said Mary C's Executive Director Eric Zala.

The demand is so intense that the cultural center is already working on expanding and adding new classes, even before they open.

Ocean Springs Mayor Connie Moran will cut the ribbon on the IP Culinary Arts Cafe' Friday night. Click here to learn more about the upcoming cooking classes at the The Mary C O'Keefe Cultural Center.
