BILOXI, MS (WLOX) – The sun is beaming down on Biloxi's Mardi Gras parade route, and revelers are beginning to lines the streets. At 1:00, they'll be showered with beads, doubloons, and a variety of stuffed animals.

The Gulf Coast Carnival Association formed in 1908. Since then, it has reigned over Biloxi on Fat Tuesday.

This year, King d'Iberville is Hancock Bank executive John Hairston. Queen Ixolib is Kathryn Anne Bailey. They'll lead a parade that has more than more than 100 floats and marching bands.

At the back of the parade is the Krewe of Neptune. It returns to Biloxi after a brief hiatus. Neptune members will be riding in floats brought over from Mobile.

WLOX's coverage of the GCCA parade begins at 4:00. At 6:00, WLOX will have live coverage of the Krewe of Gemini parade from downtown Gulfport.
