SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - This "snow day" didn't bring as much of the white stuff as many hoped to see. But no matter where you were in South Mississippi, you probably saw at least a few flakes falling.
The immediate coast area got its taste of snowflakes around 11 Friday morning, but they didn't last long. Places like Lucedale, Wiggins, Hattiesburg and Jackson enjoyed a bit more accumulation. But the more snow that fell, the more problems there were.
Power crews all over the state spent the day repairing the damage caused when snow laden tree limbs fell on power lines. People in 13 Mississippi counties lost power for a while Friday. Most all of those customers' had their power back by Friday evening.
