Barnett sworn in as new Wiggins police chief

WIGGINS, MS (WLOX) - Wiggins has a new police chief. Thursday morning, Matt Barnett was sworn in to run the city's 27 member police force.

Barnett has a long history in local law enforcement. His career spans more than 20 years. The last eight were with the Hancock County Sheriff's Department.

Barnett considers his new job in Wiggins a challenge he's greatly looking forward to. Matt Barnett replaces interim Chief Jeff Thomas.
