OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - Plans to put down a walkway on East Beach in Ocean Springs are moving forward. The Department of Marine Resources has approved the wetlands permit for the project.
Last year, M-DOT awarded Ocean Springs almost $600,000 for the walkway through the U.S. Economic Stimulus Plan. The grant will pay to construct the concrete pedestrian parkway south of the seawall from Holcomb to Halstead, then from Halstead north to Brambaugh.
DMR studies show the project should not adversely impact the wetlands in that area.
