NEW ORLEANS, LA (WLOX) - New Orleans was the place to be Sunday Night. A crowd of fans took over the French Quarter to party and praise the Saints for finally bringing home a Super Bowl Championship.
There were thousands of people sporting black and gold on Bourbon Street. Fans were cheering and shouting, kissing and hugging, and Second Line dancing in the streets and bars.
"We love the Saints, we love you, we love New Orleans," a loyal fan said after the big win.
The Who Dat Nation has spent more than four decades longing for a world championship. But Saints supporters say the win is more than just a trophy; the team has renewed a spirit of hope in New Orleans.
"My city, my team, we have come back from so much and everybody is together," a New Orleans native said while celebrating. "Everybody is one, and we are one and we are number one. Who Dat, Who Dat!"
Don't expect this Who Dat party to stop anytime soon. The city will hold a parade Tuesday for the boys in black and gold. And don't forget Fat Tuesday is just a week away. This Sunday, Quarterback Drew Brees will reign as King of Bacchus.
