NEW ORLEANS (WLOX) - With a name like The New Orleans Saints, it should be no surprise that religious leaders in the city have been keeping the team in their prayers. One fan proudly shared this prayer which was offered in 1968 by The Most Reverend Philip Hannan, who was then Archbishop of New Orleans.
It should be noted that the prayer does not specifically mention the Colts, who were in Baltimore, Maryland back then. In fact, the Colts won the NFL Championship Game in 1968, beating the Cleveland Browns 34-0. They went on to lose Super Bowl III that season to the New York Jets, 16-7.
