OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - Micah Edwin Turnley, 29, was arrested on Tuesday by agents with the United States Marshals Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force.

Turnley was wanted by the Jackson County Sheriff's Department on multiple charges including:

  • Manufacture of a Controlled substance with Methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance
  • Attempted Aggravated Assault on a policeman in the line of duty with a weapon

The first charge stems from an incident on April 10, 2008, where a Meth Lab exploded in Gulf Park Estates.

The second charge stems from an event on the night of January 18, 2010. Sheriff's deputy Lance Eubanks was investigating a reckless driver in Gulf Park Estates.

Eubanks was standing outside his patrol car talking with the people who reported the incident when the suspected reckless driver drove toward the deputy and attempted to run him over.

An investigation revealed Turnley was the driver who fled the scene on January 18.

Turnley was also on probation at the time of his arrest for transfer of a controlled substance.

Turnley is in the Jackson County Adult Detention Center and is expected to have his initial appearance Wednesday [today].
