South Alabama Gets Revenge On Southern Miss With 7-2 Win In Hattiesburg

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) _ Tommy Major and Tony Neal combined on a two-hitter and Ryan Mulhern homered as South Alabama defeated Southern Mississippi 7-2 on Tuesday night.

Major (5-1) pitched five innings, allowing one hit and one run, though he walked eight. Neal allowed a hit and a run in the final four innings for his first save for the Jaguars (14-7).

Cliff Russum (1-4) allowed five hits and four runs in five innings and Clint King hit his sixth home run for the Golden Eagles (15-5).

Mulhern was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Cole Craig hit his first home run of the season.
