MERIDIAN, MS (WLOX) - Five airmen from the Mississippi Air National Guard are deploying to Haiti in support of earthquake relief efforts.
The members of the 248th Air Traffic Control Squadron in Meridian are leaving Thursday. They will relieve military air traffic control teams operating at the Port-au-Prince International Airport.
They will serve from 90 to 180 days. The airmen will be joined by fifteen air traffic control specialists from units in New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and South Carolina.
