Saints fans wait hours to meet their favorite players

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Monday night Black and Gold fans got a chance to get "up close and personal" with four Saints players at a sports store in Edgewater Mall.

Marquez Colston, Mike Bell, Lance Moore and Pierre Thomas didn't even show up until after 6:00 p.m. and 350 reserved tickets were already bought. But some Saints fanatics spent most of their day camped out anyway, waiting for their favorite players to arrive.

The Davies were the very first in line at Gulf Coast Cards and Sports Memorabilia inside Edgewater Mall for the evening autograph session.

Jerri Davies was there since 11:00 a.m. Second in line was Thomas Embry. He also got there well before noon, equipped with a chair for the wait and a football for the signatures.

"It's a lot of fun to stand in line and see all the crazy people so excited," Thomas Embry said.

The Moore brothers were at last month's autograph session to get their footballs signed. Now, for a $30 ticket, they'll get to add even more names to their football.

Sonja Robison got her football signed last time too. We asked her if she was torn on who to pull for when the Saints face south Mississippi native Brett Favre in the Superdome Sunday. There was no confusion for her.

"Oh heck no, all Saints!!" Robison said.

But to Embry, a Saints and Favre fan, no matter who scores the most points, it's a win, win for him.

"Brett's awesome," Embry said. "People can hate me for that, but if he wins everything, I'll be tickled. It's going to be a great game. This game's gonna be as good as the Super Bowl, so this game that's coming up, is going to be great!"
