GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Reaction to the Saints' total domination of the Cardinals was swift.
With just one game between the Saints and Superbowl 44, you could feel the excitement building for fans who have waited a very, very long time for this day.
It was a packed house at Skeeters in Gulfport as Saints fanatics watched the Arizona Cardinals get shot down.
Before the high scoring game was even over, there was celebration and glasses were raised.
But even through the cheers, you could still hear the one lone dissenter. A man in red named Sedric could barely get a word in.
Sedric Haynes said through the "who dat" cheers, "They had their day today, but next week, it's okay, next week, playoffs no more. Saints will not make it to the superbowl, guaranteed!"
But it was all in good fun, Saints fans hugged that one "scrooge" and in no way let him affect the high they were feeling.
Dee Ladner said, "I've been waiting 40 years for this my uncle was a huge saints fan, and he passed away when they won the AFC last time. So now I think he's smiling down at us. It's about time! Thank you uncle Bobby! Go Saints!"
This transplanted New Orleanian has also been waiting her whole life for what she says is "the year of the Saints."
Erica Banquer said, "I'm very happy. I think they're gonna go all the way, and I think they're gonna win!"
The excitement is building for fans young and old as they realize their beloved Saints are just one game away from the Superbowl.
In their final game before the Superbowl, all these fans will find out who the Saints will face after next weekend's game between the Vikings and Cowboys.
