Biloxi mayor declares Tuesday Damion Fletcher Day

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Southern Miss's star running back Damion Fletcher returned home to Biloxi Tuesday for a very special honor. Mayor A.J. Holloway declared January 5, 2010 as Damion Fletcher Day.

"Oh man, it's a wonderful feeling you know to do all the things I've done and to place Biloxi by my name," Fletcher said. "Giving me my own day is just the greatest feeling in the world."

Last month, the USM football star capped off one of the most successful careers ever for a college running back. The Biloxi High School graduate was the 9th player in major college football to reach 1,000 yards in all fours seasons. For his career, Fletcher finished 8th on the all-time rushing list.
