GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - The Saints didn't bring home a win this week, but they are headed to the playoffs. Sunday's defeat didn't stop rowdy Saints fans from showing they bleed black and gold. Locals made themselves at home at The Quarter bar in downtown Gulfport. The Quarter is a new bar that sits right off Highway 49 and 13th Street.
"We're trying to make it feel like you're in New Orleans when you come in here and we're trying to bring the French Quarter over here," said owner Bob Taylor.
Taylor opened the doors to the public several weeks ago and said business has been a touchdown on game days ever since.
"The only reason we're here is because of the Saints," Taylor said. "We would not have opened up this place during the day on our normal off hour unless it was for the Saints and the folks that love the Saints."
"We came out here to support our Saints and came out here to have some fun with some friends and enjoy the Saints game," Janin Love said before adding a "Who Dat!"
The Saints trailed the Panthers the entire game, ending their regular season 13 and three, and looking nothing like the perfect team that stepped onto the field less than a month ago.
"Well, you know the Saints have been fun to watch all year and you just have to have a little faith," John Fowler said. "Go Saints! Just take it all the way."
Although the Saints didn't leave Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte with a win, they are one of 12 teams that will begin the playoffs January 9th. Taylor said The Quarter will be open every weekend during the playoffs for Saints fans to come and cheer on the black and gold.
