BAY ST. LOUIS, MS (WLOX) - The new and improved Children's Library inside the Hancock County Library building is in its final stages of remodeling. A company called Garage Graphics out of Springfield, Missouri is in town assembling some of the library's spectacular new features.

Library leaders sent pictures to the company so it could authenticate mock-ups of a Bay St. Louis cottage and a live oak.

"As a centerpiece, we've got a real Bay St. Louis cottage. And our new children's computer system will go on the front porch of that cottage," said Patty Furr, Executive Director for the Hancock Co. Library System.

"We also have an oak tree, which is actually a puppet theater. It has a door in the back; two adults can go in. And we plan on having puppet shows for the children in the branches of the tree. The puppets jump out on the various holes in the tree. It's going to be really cute."

Library leaders will hold a grand opening at the end of January, but the Children's Library is expected to be ready for the youngsters to enjoy by Monday, January 4.
