Ocean Springs man charged with carjacking

By WLOX Staff

JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - A man who D'Iberville Police say led them on a chase before crashing into a light pole was arrested Sunday, December 27. Robert Neil Ishee, 43, of Ocean Springs is charged with one count of carjacking.

It all started when Jackson County Sheriff's Deputies received a call about a carjacking at the Fleet Station on Washington Avenue in St. Martin. Officers in D'Iberville then spotted the vehicle in their city and tried to stop the driver. Investigators say the driver took off, leading the officers on a chase before finally crashing into a light pole.

Ishee is being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center, charged with carjacking. D'Iberville Police also have felony charges pending against Ishee. They believe he stole another vehicle earlier in the evening, and abandoned it on the interstate after running out of gas.
