BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Heavy rains have caused more flooding in South Mississippi. WLOX has picked up over 3.00" of rain in the past 24 hours.
WLOX has received reports of flooding in low lying areas in Gulfport. Police have reported stalled out cars at Fournier and Highway 90 in Biloxi.
Gulfport Fire Chief Pat Sullivan said vehicles are also stalled out on Highway 90 in Gulfport, as well. Due to the flooding, all motorists should avoid Highway 90 if at all possible.
South Mississippi is under a Flash Flood Watch until 6:00 am Sunday morning and has been under a Flash Flood Warning through much of the evening on Saturday.
A Flood Warning is in effect for residents along the Wolf and Biloxi rivers. All river residents should prepare for rising waters.
Do not attempt to drive on a road covered by water. The road could be washed away underneath. It only takes six inches of moving water to displace a vehicle. Turn around; don't drown!
