Kingfish Hook 5-4 Win Over Sea Wolves

Baton Rouge set the tone for the game at 2:57 of the first period when Alex Burrows scored his 12th goal of the season on a power-play. It was unassisted.

Joe Guenther came up with a hat trick with two goals in the first period and one in the 3rd. The Kingfish led 3 nothing at 11:41 of the first period before Mississippi Chris Allen bagged the Sea Wolves first goal at 13:53 of the first period, followed by Darryl Campbell's unassisted goal at 15:27. Baton Rouge led 3-2 after one period.

Baton Rouge scored the only goal in the second period at 13:54 on another unassisted goal turned in by Dwayne Blais, a former member of the Sea Wolves.

Mississippi's Dave Paradise notched his 33rd goal of the season on an assist from Steffon Walby at 2:03 of the third period .

Four-minutes later Joe Guenther would bag what turned out to become the game winner on a Kingfish power-play and Baton Rouge led 5-3.

At 10:02 of the final period Darryl Campbell scored his 2nd goal on the night cutting the Kingfish lead 5-4, but the Sea Wolves couldn't close the gap.

Mississippi connected on 1 of 2 power-play chances while Baton Rouge hit on 3 of 4 power-play conversions.

Sean Matile stopped 23 of 28 shots on goal. Niklas Sundberg halted 25 of 29 shots on goal for the Kingfish.

Despite the loss Mississippi continues to hold a one point lead over the Louisiana IceGators sitting atop the ECHL Southwest Division.

The Sea Wolves are back on the home ice in the Mississippi Coast Coliseum 7:35 Friday night.
