"Bad dirt" puts Extreme Makeover: Home Edition crew behind schedule

By WLOX Staff

HATTIESBURG, MS (WLOX) - Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's quest to build Hattiesburg resident Sherman Heathcock and his family a new home hit a rough spot this week, but the builders are still optimistic.

Shortly after demolition was completed, crews found six feet of bad dirt underneath the old home's foundation. The area had to be cut out and replaced with new dirt.

Builders said it set the project back by about four hours. But they're optimistic the house will still be completed in the allotted seven days.
