Carnival Cruise Ship Coming To Gulfport

New Orleans' loss is now the coast's gain. The Carnival cruise ship Conquest is headed for the port of Gulfport.

The ship will arrive early Sunday morning, and depart on another cruise that afternoon. Carnival officials say the ship is leaving New Orleans because of high water on the Mississippi River, and low hanging power lines.

The Gulfport contract runs for six weeks, and possibly as long as a three months. Port director Don Allee says the deal will be a money-maker, and could even lead to a permanent dock.
