Alcorn president resigns to take Michigan post

JACKSON, MS (AP) - Alcorn State University President George E. Ross is leaving the Mississippi campus to take a job in Michigan.

The state College Board announced Thursday that Ross will return to Central Michigan University in March to become its president.

Before coming to Alcorn State in January 2008, Ross had served as Central Michigan's vice president for finance and administrative services.

Ross said in a statement released by the College Board that he didn't actively seek the presidency at the school in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.
