HUNTINGTON, WV (AP) - Martevious Young threw two second-half touchdown passes to lead Southern Miss to a 27-20 win over Marshall on Saturday night.

Southern Miss (6-4, 4-2 Conference USA) became bowl eligible for the eighth-straight season and denied Marshall (5-5, 3-3) a chance at becoming bowl eligible for the first time under fourth-year coach Mark Snyder.

Marshall's DeQuan Bembry fumbled a punt early in the third quarter at the Thundering Herd 39. On the next play, Young threw to Damion Fletcher in the end zone for a 20-13 lead.

After a 1-yard run by Marshall's Terrell Edwards-Maye tied the score, Young threw a 36-yard scoring toss to DeAndre Brown with 6:54 left in the game.

Southern Miss' Justin Wilson intercepted Brian Anderson twice inside the Southern Miss 10 in the final 2 minutes.
