D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) - Drew Brees jerseys are in high demand. So are the Fleur de Lis face tattoos. Loyal fans are snatching up all sorts of items with the Saints logo for their cars, pets, yes, even their yards.
"It's forest faces to put on your tree," Pam Thompson said as she held up what looked like Mr. Potato Head pieces. "We haven't been able to keep these in."
Thompson is the owner of the Sports Shack in D'Iberville. She's busy these days making sure Saints decorations and gifts are available to her customers.
"Our Christmas ornaments are coming in now and the stockings, little football ornaments," Thompson said.
Saints merchandise is hot because the team is on fire this year.
"It's been awesome! During the month of October, when they started winning over and over again, our sales went up 35 percent, and we didn't order enough," Thompson said.
Amanda Bolyer came in to buy a birthday gift for a new Saints fan, her 11-year-old daughter Alexis.
"I bought her a lanyard, some shoe charms and earrings so she can show off her Saints spirit, because the Saints seem to be having a good year this year," Bolyer said.
And Stacy Carmichael has been searching for a Saints hat for a faithful fan, his 76-year-old dad.
"I think he's just excited about the Saints," Carmichael said. "I think he's like everybody else right now. It's a great time to be a Saints fan."
Saints fans are always proud to be decked out in black and gold, from head to toe, even if they're just lounging around the house and having a tailgate party right in their own backyard. And if the Saints celebrate more victories, Pam Thompson expects holiday sales to soar.
"Oh, I can't wait!" Thompson said. "Hopefully they'll explode just like the Saints are exploding. We have a sign out front that says, 'We Believe.' And we definitely believe in the Saints. All the way to Miami."
The licensed jerseys can cost about $80, but fans seem willing to pay the price. Other popular Saints items this year are Fossil watches, pottery, purses and hoodies.
