Praise for Ocean Springs waterfront efforts

Kudos to the city of Ocean Springs for enhancing the ability of visitors and locals to enjoy the beachfront in their city. The new Fort Maurepas Park will allow residents to go down to the beach and enjoy our many gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. It also will allow children and adults a place to throw Frisbees or just enjoy a quiet moment away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. In addition the new park educates the public about the history of Ocean Springs and the many countries that have claimed the area at one time or another.

The site in years past has been under used but with this new park with all of its features no doubt it will soon be a favorite place for nearby residents to enjoy our beautiful outdoors. Also in the same area, the city is building a walking trail on the beach that will take hikers along the waterfront. This will be a great addition for those who want to enjoy the salt air and get some exercise. We live in one of the most beautiful places on earth and we are glad to see the city of Ocean Springs making it easier for all of us to enjoy the outdoors along our waters edge.
