BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Project Fit is expanding in Harrison County. This thanks to a grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi, kids at Nativity BVM Elementary School in Biloxi will be marching for better health in the future.

The ribbon was cut on new playground equipment Wednesday morning. It will give kids a great workout on all levels, including cadio and stretching.

Judging from the reaction of the students, this new playground is just what the fitness coach ordered.

School Principal Sister Mary Jo Mike says it shows a committment by the school to help students make healthier choices.

"Well, I think that this program really continues what we've already begun at school as state physical fitness champs with the presidential physical fitness program," Mike said. "It has allowed us to really develop the program further through the Project Fit program."

School officials plan to let the kids try out the new equipment several times a day during the cool fall months.
