Cruisin' in D'Iberville

D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) - Sounds and sights of the fifties filled the parking lot in front of the D'Iberville Civic Center.

Even a taste of Hollywood glamour, fifties style, made an appearance by way of Marilyn Monroe.

Along with all the shaking came a lot of crankin' as classic cruisers revved up their engines and filled the parking lot.

On the other end of the lot, a few cruisers ended up with cruisin citations from Barney Fiffe, well the man posing as Officer Fiffe anyway, Captain Walter H. Keck Jr. of the D'Iberville Police Department.  Even a D'Iberville city councilman, Stephen Furney, found himself in a little trouble but was quickly released.

"He's a city councilman, and I gotta be nice to a city councilman.  He plays with my budget.  He can cut it, and I can't afford to have it cut," says Keck.

Those, like Charlotte Mitchell however, say they don't mind receiving cruisin' citations and wouldn't mind coming back for another one.

"Oh cool is this!  I got cited in D'Iberville, MS!  I love it thank you.  We'll see you all next year."
