Owners Richard and Chily Moon of R & C Korean Restaurant stay as close as they can to their Korean heritage. The restaurant is all about the food - starting with the cook.
Chily started cooking when she was in 3rd grade. Her secret sauce is to die for. It has 13 different seasonings in it.
Beginning with appetizers, Kim bop, is a Korean sushi roll. Bin Da Douk is a seafood pancake. Steamed Man Doo and Yaki Man Doo are a type of Korean Dumpling. They are very good, and you don't have to speak Korean to enjoy the exotic taste.
Pui Go Gi is sliced beef marinated in special sauce. Then there's Gal Bee which are Short Rib.
Try a little Jjom Bbong to help clear your sinuses. It's a seafood soup with noodle, shrimp, crab meat, fish cake, mussels and a broth that will clear your sinuses right up.
Bi-bim Bop is rice, vegetable, beef and a fried egg on top of with sesame seed oil. There's a sauce that you mix in it to make it however hot you want it.
Jab Chae is a dish with a clear noodle that made of potato, vegetables and a meat.
Richard knows a lot of these dishes sound exotic to South Mississippians, but he's confident that those who try them will come back for more.
"Don't say no. Just try once then tell me no," Richard says.
R & C Korean Restaurant is on Pass Road in Biloxi near Kessler's Gate 7. They're open from 10:30am to 9pm Monday-Saturday. Lunch specials are served Monday through Friday from 11am to 2:30pm.
