JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - An Ocean Springs man who dropped his girlfriend off at the emergency room Monday night is now charged with murder.
Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd told WLOX News that Mark Anthony Fountain, 44, is charged with the murder of Jennifer Lee McKeon, 32, after autopsy results show she may have been choked. She also had a wound on the back of her head.
Officials said McKeon was already dead when Fountain dropped her off in the emergency room at Ocean Springs Hospital.
Sheriff Byrd said McKeon had been taken to the ER on 27 other occasions. He would not say whether Fountain was connected to any of those visits.
Sheriff Byrd did say Fountain has a history of domestic violence, and was out on bond on an assault charge.
Fountain is being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center. He was denied bond.
